Submission Guidelines

Please read these guidelines carefully before preparing and submitting your entry.

A sample experiment video is provided to help participants understand the required format and expected standards for submission.

1. ELIGIBILITY

• The competition is open to students aged 6 to 18 years.
• Experiments must be educational, safe, and suitable for the participant’s age group.
• Hazardous chemicals, toxic substances, explosives, open flames, weapons, and dangerous equipment are strictly prohibited.

2. PARENT / GUARDIAN CONSENT

• A signed Parent/Guardian Consent Form is mandatory.
• The Consent Form must be completed before any experiment is performed, recorded, or submitted.
• All experiments must be conducted under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

3. SAFETY

• Participants must use only safe and age-appropriate materials.
• Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring the safety of the participant during the preparation, recording, and submission of the experiment.
• Science Digest Pakistan shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, or incident arising from participation in the competition.

4. VIDEO REQUIREMENTS

• The participant must be clearly visible throughout the video.
• The experiment and its results must be clearly shown and easy to understand.
• The recording should be made in a quiet environment with clear audio and adequate lighting.
• Videos containing excessive background noise or poor visibility may not be considered for evaluation.

5. DRESS CODE

Participants should preferably wear:
• School Uniform; or
• Lab Coat (if available).

6. VIDEO PRESENTATION FORMAT

At the beginning of the video, participants should clearly state:
• Full Name
• School Name
• Class / Grade

Participants should then:
• Introduce the experiment.
• Explain its purpose and scientific concept.
• Describe the expected result.
• Perform the experiment.
• Explain the outcome and observations.

7. VIDEO DURATION

• Recommended duration: 2–5 minutes.

8. EVALUATION AND SHORTLISTING

• All entries will be reviewed by the Science Digest Pakistan Evaluation Panel.
• Submissions will be assessed based on scientific understanding, creativity, presentation, clarity, and successful demonstration of the experiment.
• Twelve (12) entries will be shortlisted solely on merit.
• The decision of the Evaluation Panel shall be final.

9. PUBLIC VOTING

• The twelve shortlisted videos will be published on the Science Digest Pakistan website.
• A Vote button will be displayed next to each shortlisted video.
• Any individual with a valid email address may cast one vote during the competition month.
• The participant receiving the highest number of valid votes will be declared the winner.

10. PRIZES

The winner will receive:
• PKR 10,000 Cash Prize
• Official Science Digest Pakistan E-Certificate

11. CONTENT PERMISSION

• By participating, the participant and parent/guardian grant Science Digest Pakistan permission to publish submitted videos, photographs, names, school names, and related content on its website, social media platforms, and promotional materials.

12. GENERAL CONDITIONS

• Science Digest Pakistan reserves the right to reject any submission that does not comply with these guidelines.
• Participation in the competition constitutes acceptance of all rules and decisions made by Science Digest Pakistan.
